Midnight Video 19

And so we reach the average of the combat soldier in Vietnam, but for Midnight Video 19 we avoid the combat zone by putting our lives in danger without the aid of the military as we scale dizzying heights in Safety Last.  We then make a technological leap from the silent era of cinema to the ushering in of HD and digital video trickery with The Orchestra before enduring a voyage of self discovery as search for our inner Jonathan Livingstone Seagull.

Don't forget Jim and I are going to be at Frightfest next weekend so the podcast will have a one week break before you hear our dulcet tones again.  If you are attending Frightfest we'll be in seats 20 and 21 on row EE - we'll be more than happy to have a chat and hopefully a cheeky pint.

Please keep any feedback and A-Z of Film contributions coming.  iTunes reviews are more than welcome and don't forget you can join in on our Facebook page shenanigans.

Midnight Video 18 (Side B)

Here is Side B of show 18.

Right click the post's title to download or go through the archive or subscribe to Midnight Video through iTunes.

Don't forget to keep coming back to this site for supplemental material that accompanies the shows.  In addition to this site we have a Facebook page that's full of supplemental material, discussions and whole lot of Nic Cage love, but it's also a great way to meet up with fellow Midnight Video listeners.

Midnight Video 18 (Side A)

Show 18 sees Midnight Video swap their videos for vinyl as film soundtracks become the focus for this long player podcast.
As you can see from the title this is Side A (or part two for those of you who are unfamiliar with the popular vinyl format of yesteryear) and Side B will be available as a separate download.

Right click on the post's title to download or go through the archive on the right of the page, but all the cool kids subscribe through iTunes.

Midnight Video T-shirts. Want one?

Last month we unveiled our rather natty Midnight Video T-shirt which some lucky listeners have managed to win recently.  But we've been inundated with requests as to whether or not they are available to buy and after much deliberation we've decided that they jolly well should be.

We've only had fifty shirts printed, so once they're gone they are gone I'm afraid, so don't hang around.  Sizes (pit to pit measurements in brackets) available are S (18"/46cm) , M (20.5"/52cm), L (22.5"/57cm) and XL (24.5"/62cm).  Payment can be made via Paypal.

Prices are as follows:
T-shirt and postage within the UK is £15
T-shirt and postage to Europe is £16
T-shirt and postage to US and rest of the world is £17

And for anyone lucky enough to attend Frighfest we felt that as you'd already forked out a small fortune for the weekend/daily pass, then we'll have a special offer of £10 just for the shirt and we'll give it to you at the festival.
If you would like to be the proud owner and subsequent wearer of this celebration of cult film please email us at midnightvideo@hotmail.co.uk

Midnight Video 17

Midnight Video 17 sees us returning to the cusp of the 1990s to take a peek at Warren Beatty's dick, Dick Tracy that is.  We then hop back a couple of decades to the cusp of the 1970s to a London without much swing and the sordid tale of sibling seduction in Goodbye Gemini before we finally discover the truth about cold temperatures and time travel in Time of the Apes.

Right click the post's tile to download, or click on the archive link to the right of the screen, but better yet subscribe to us on iTunes and maybe leave a star rating or comment if you enjoy/hate us.

Keep coming back to the blog for supplemental material to accompany the current show and also check our Facebook page for further material.
